Leadership
My involvement began in 2014 at my first dental meeting with the American Student Dental Association. I arrived not knowing anyone and left having met some of my closest friends and colleagues. At this district meeting I learned the importance of organized dentistry and how we need to continue to have a strong voice to protect our profession. I brought many ideas back from this conference to help build and strengthen my university's pre-dental club.

My junior year I became the Vice President and Senior became the President of our pre-dental club. Our club introduced students to dentistry, how to apply, and organized community service. Our most popular community service project was our annual charity 5k. Each year was an improvement however my year as president we were able to host over 100 people and raise thousands of dollars. All the proceeds were donated to the Bradley Free Clinic in Roanoke which provided free medical, dental, and pharmacy services to the under privileged.

My involvement in ASDA and organized dentistry did not end in college however just became a bigger part of the dental career. I have become the Vice- President of the ASDA chapter at UMB. I have collaborated with our executive board to organize our first ever chapter leadership retreat.
We have also traveled to the national leadership conferences and to Dentist day on Capital Hill. Political policies is another way that I have played my role in organized dentistry. I testified in a the health committee on dental therapist in Annapolis Maryland.

We met with Mr. Jamie Raskin and other Maryland representitive, about the opioid epidemic, student loan debt, and insurance ant-trust
I represented UMB SOD ASDA chapter by voting on policies in the national ASDA organization House of Delegate, that represents dental students as a whole
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Cole (ADA president) and Dr. Sheply (ADA District trustee) at a national conference in Pittsburg.
I had the opportunity to testify on a bill regarding dental therapist int the Maryland Health and Government Operation committee.
